The cost of such systems has come down considerably in the last few years, and they’re a very usable technology both for private homes, apartments, and even work spaces if visual ID is important.
As with any more advanced technology, IF there are problems, video is often harder to fix than just an audio system.

Choosing which system all comes down to how important the video view is to you - both provide the same service, but video view may be an extra level of security you want to invest in.
